It’s never too late…

I know I’ve been behaving like many tradespeople out there who, while they may be experts in what they do, often let their own projects lapse at home.

So here I am – working hard on the content marketing for my clients, but my own blog, e-newsletter, and Facebook account have dropped off the radar. I know what needs to be done, but it simply hasn’t happened. I’ve watched fellow businesswomen around me achieve awesome things like launching podcasts, appearing on live television, and getting published in all sorts of publications, and felt that I’ve somehow been left behind.

But it’s never too late.

And I need to be kind to myself.

This year, I only returned to work from Maternity Leave in July, and my key focus was about re-adjusting to a life with two kids and work. I could never have predicted that my passion for Jamberry nail products, which was only meant to be a hobby side business, turned into so much more.

But I had to follow my heart.

What was inspiring me? Challenging me? This year, it ended up being Jamberry. And I know it will all have a positive impact on Write Time Marketing in the long run.

I have gotten back in touch with my sales side (I worked in online sales many moons ago) and learnt ways of stepping out of my comfort zone to speak and mingle with people I have never met before. I’ve learnt new ways to create engagement in a Facebook group environment, picked up customer service techniques, and gotten ideas of how to make customers feel special by going that extra mile.

Currently, I don’t have the capacity to build WTM into the massive business I dream it could be. I want to put on workshops, start a podcast, and inspire as many businesswomen as I can.

But I need to be kind to myself.

What am I physically capable of right now – while still having enough time for my husband and kids, and not burning out?

I love having my own businesses and the flexibility it gives me. It’s never too late to ‘get back on that horse’ and start working ON my business again. And that will be one of my key goals for 2018.

So don’t feel bad that you’ve let your content marketing slide for your business. As you have read, I’m guilty of it too. But why not start it up again today? Set aside 30 minutes to type up a blog entry like I just have, or re-assess your content marketing plan.
